Hua Hin Short-Stay Condo $300 Per Month

After staying in Bangkok for the previous six months, we decided to spend a month in Hua Hin before continuing our travels around Asia. We managed to find a super-cute condo for just $300 a month, and given the current situation with the coronavirus, we’ve decided to stay here untl the current restrictions are over.

If we’d known we’d be staying here long-term we would probably have looked for a bigger condo, but for a month, this 30 sqm was perfect.

After a couple of weeks, we knew that we’d have to stay in Hua Hin for a while, and as we felt quite settled in this condo we decided to stay rather than look for a bigger place.

As you can see from the images, it’s beautifully decorated and also feels far more spacious than the size would suggest. We actually prefer this condo to our last one in Bangkok that was 50% bigger and almost three times more expensive.

The living room area has a double bed next to the window, so it feels a little separate from the main living area. Two sets of bedding are included, so we’re able to get the bedding washed regularly.

Kitchen

Unlike many smaller condos, the kitchen is completely separate from the main living area. We much prefer this arrangement. The kitchen has a hot plate, microwave, kettle and toaster, so it’s easy to cook a wide variety of meals at home. We’re about to buy a rice cooker as well, which was included.

Bathroom

The bathroom is small, but like the rest of the condo it’s well laid out. It’s more the adequate for our needs. There are also some extra shelves, which are always handy to have in the bathroom.

Swimming Pool & Fitness Room

The swimming pool at the condo is awesome. Often we’re the only people using it, but at other times there may only be around 4 or 5 other people.

There’s also plenty of seating around the pool area, so it’s a great place to sit and read a good book.

There is a fitness room that overlooks the swimming pool. As both the swimming pool and fitness room are closed at the moment (due to the coronavirus), I wasn’t able to take a photo of the fitness room. I’ll hopefully be able to add it at a later date.

Above the fitness room, there’s a sun deck with a few sun loungers. Ideal for those of you that like to lie in the sun and get a tan.

There’s also a mini library at the swimming pool. There are books in English, Russian, German and a few other languages.

Car Park

There is plenty of car parking space available. As we have a car at the moment, this is important to us.

Location

The location is pretty fantastic as well. Cicada Market is about one kilometer away, Bluport Shopping Mall is 700 meters away and Market Village is 2.1 km away. The beach is around a 300-400 meter walk. There is a 7-Eleven store about 150 meters from the condo. The condo also has a 7-Eleven machine in the carpark.

Costs

Our condo costs 10,000 baht per month, which at today’s exchange rates is around $300 or £245. We think that’s a real bargain for such a nice condo in a fantastic location. As well as the rent we also need to pay electricity and water bills each month. They come to around 1,800 baht, which is around $55 or £45. High speed internet and multi-channel TV are included in the renal price.
