This is the second time I’ve stayed at Citrus Hotel in Johor Bahru and I’ll definitely stay here again. It’s just a few minutes walk from JB Sentral train station and right next to a shopping mall that has a great choice of restaurants. It’s also recently been renovated.
I booked a Standard room that shows as 17 sqm on the Agoda website, but the room felt much more spacious, as you can see from the image above.
The room had a small settee, a table, a wardrobe and bedside cabinets. The bed was comfortable and the aircon worked well.
When I opened the wardrobe there was a surprise inside. There was a kettle, cups, tea and coffee.I wasn’t expecting to see those in there. There was also a safe and a small fridge.
The bathroom was bigger that I was expecting it to be, and it didn’t feel cramped like many hotel bathrooms do.
The shower was a good size as well and the water pressure was very good. Soap, bodywash, shampoo, shower cap and toothbrush & toothpaste were provided.
The internet speed wasn’t great but it was good enough for my needs. When I tested it, it showed as 5.44 Mbps download and 6.06 Mbps upload.

How To Get To Citrus Hotel From JB Sentral Station
While the hotel is within walking distance of JB Sentral station it can be a little tricky to get to the first time. I created a video of the walk, so have a look at that and it should all become quite clear. Basically, you cross the road using the walkway and then walk through the shopping mall. It’s really easy if you follow along.

We usually use Agoda for most of our hotel bookings, as we’ve found that they usually have the best prices.
